Carlo Ancelotti is now the coach of Real Madrid and he has made it clear that he will be very strict with players regarding discipline. He has also stressed the need to have a tough team at home to avoid complacency, similar to what Los Blancos did when they were under pressure for several weeks with injuries and tension.
Last season was not a good season for Real Madrid as they dropped three out of four matches, including a very tough encounter against Sevilla, in the top half of the table. Despite that, however, Los Blancos did enough to qualify for next season’s Champions League, albeit coming second behind eventual champions Manchester United.
Real Madrid Carlo Ancelotti Celta-2 – Real Madrid vs Celta Vigo | La Liga Table
The season started well for Real Madrid with a 2-1 win against Villarreal but their form soon changed and they lost to Real Sociedad in their next match. Los Blancos also suffered another blow when David Beckham was forced out of the team following an altercation with the then president of the club, Ramon Calderon.
David Beckham had requested a transfer to Milan last summer but the impact on Madrid was severe and no transfer agreement was reached. It looked as if the once world-class player would never be signing for the club again. Los Blancos was also dealt a heavy blow when Mario Mandela left the club and signed for PSG.
La Liga Prediction Real Madrid v Celta Vigo
Real Madrid is now favourites to win the league title once more and they are confident that they have what it takes to go all the way to the final, “Clasico” stage. They have made huge improvements this off season and have brought in some key players such as Argentine defender Jesus Alves, Spanish goalkeeper Pepe, Brazilian attacker Hulk and German defender Mats Hummels.
Alves and Hummels are both quality centre backs who play at the heart of the defence and are vital to the team’s success. With the likes of Beckham, Madrid would surely be a force to be reckoned with in Europe and the semi-finals would prove to be an extremely tough challenge.
