Injuries have not prevented Diego Costa from performing at an extremely high level for Atletico Madrid this season. On the opposite side of things, Los Rojefa has been unable to pick the Spaniard. Despite this, Costa has still been given the number one shirt by Diego Simeone. It would appear that this may be down to the player’s performance, rather than the managerial position that the former Atleti boss, Clemente has had.

During the summer break in the season opener, Jan Oblak was unfortunate to miss the final game of the season. It would have been great to see him back in the team next season. La Albacete has struggled to form a stable team around Diego Costa, despite bringing in star names like Kaka and Rivaldo.

This season, Oblak has started more games than any other player and Oblak’s form has not been as good as some would have hoped. As such, he has been handed the number one shirt by Costa, which has obviously put pressure on the keeper to perform well during games.

During the season run so far, Loris Kone has impressed the fans with his performances for Bordeaux. Despite being promoted just a year ago, Kone has impressed the French club and has been one of the standouts so far for Les Anges. Best Goalkeeper – La Liga Santander 2021/22.

Kone has also featured for Watford, Burnley, and Leicester City this season, and impressed the Watford faithful with a fantastic display against the league leaders, Watney. With a contract until the end of next season, it looks as though Kone will be in demand this season if he performs as well as he has in the previous.
